Hakka Bistro Scarborough at Eglinton Ave East brings the Indo-Chinese cuisine that developed in Kolkata's Hakka Chinese community to a Scarborough audience that already knows and loves the format. Hakka Chinese cooking, the fusion that produced dishes like Chicken Manchurian, Chili Chicken Hakka Noodles, is distinct from both mainstream Chinese and mainstream Indian food; it's its own thing, built in the kitchen of South Asian immigrants of Chinese descent. This Scarborough location adds Nepali dishes to the mix, reflecting the broader South and East Asian community the restaurant serves. Open Sunday through Monday and Wednesday through Thursday until 11pm, Friday and Saturday until midnight catering available. The Parliament Street sister location has already built the reputation; this Scarborough outpost brings the same kitchen to the east end.
